Holy shit, are we tired!
This was one hell of a never-ending weekend of gigs folks, and we’re just starting to recover from it.
We started the insanity Friday at Dave and Busters in Philly, opened for The Slim Kings (featuring Liberty Devvito of Billy Joel’s band) and the Nick Clemmons Band. (Nick’s the son of Clarence Clemmons, Bruce’s sax player) It was a rip-roaring good time, and thanks to all our fans out there, we packed the place!
It was cool meeting Liberty Devvito too…that dude is one class act:
The next morning there was no rest for the wicked. We had to be up and at ‘em early to get over to Mt. Holly, NJ for their first annual Hollystock Music Festival!
We had a nice little stage in the shade right next to the beer garden. So needless to say, we were happy campers out there with all the drunks. But we were also among good company, playing alongside incredible bands like Black Stars, The Defused, Kid Felix, and more.
After rocking the stage outside, and hanging with one of our favorite bass players, Stolen Rhodes’ Dan Hass, we packed up the cars and drove north to Puck in Doylestown, PA for a nightcap of a show with our buds The Rivals! The night ended with everyone on stage plowing our way through the Beatles “Don’t Let Me Down,” The Band’s “The Weight,” and eventually “La Bamba.”
I can’t remember much after that one.
Now it’s back to bed. But thanks to all of our friends, fans, and family for coming out to any or all of our shows this weekend! And a big thanks to all the bands we played with. This barrage of gigs was way too much fun.
